Study the following sentences and the uses of go bhfuil, go raibh and go mbeidh. Study the new vocabulary and expressions.

Go bhfuil sé, that he/it is
Nach bhfuil sé, that he/it is not
For example:

	Ceapaim go bhfuil sé fuar		I think that it is cold
	Ceapaim nach bhfuil sé fuar		I think that it is not cold
	Ceapaim go bhfuil ocras orm		I think that I am hungry
	Ceapaim nach bhfuil ocras orm		I think that I am not hungry
	Tá fhios agam go bhfuil sé fuar innu		I know that it is cold today
	Tá súil agam go bhfuil tú go maith		I hope that you are well
	Tá súil agam go bhfuil airgead agat		I hope that you have money
	Tá súil agam nach bhfuil slaghdán ort		I hope that don’t have a cold
	Tá fhios agat nach bhfuil airgead agam		you know I don’t have money
	Deir Seán go bhfuil áthas air		John says that he is happy
	Duirt Síla nach bhfuil cóta aice		Shila said that she doesn’t have a coat
	Is maith liom go bhfuil sibh anseo		I like that you are here
	Is maith liom go bhfuil áthas ort		I like that you are happy

Go raibh sé, that it/he was
Nach raibh sé, that it/he wasn’t
For example:

	Tá fhios agam go raibh tú sa bhaile		I know that you were at home
	Tá fhios agam nach raibh tú anseo		I know that you weren’t here
	Bhí fhios agam go raibh tú sa bhaile		I knew that you were at home
	Bhí fhios agam nach raibh tú anseo		I knew that you were not here
	Cheap mé go raibh tú sa bhaile		I thought that you were at home
	Cheap mé go raibh slaghdán ort		I thought you had a cold
	Ceapaim anois go raibh tú ag sugradh		I think that you were playing
	Is cuimhin liom go raibh tú ag gáire		I remember that you were laughing
	Is cuimhin liom nach raibh tú ag éisteacht		I remember you weren’t listening

Go mbeidh sé, that he/it will be
Nach mbeidh sé, that he/it will not be
For example:

	Tá súil agam go mbeidh mé anseo arís		I hope that I’ll be here again
	Tá súil agam go mbeidh Cáisc deas agaibh		I hope that you will have a nice Easter
	Tá súil agam nach mbeidh sé fuar amárach		I hope that it will not be cold tomorrow
	B’fhéidir go mbeidh sproí againn cois farraige		maybe we’ll have fun by the seaside
	Ceapaim go mbeidh tú ag dul abhaile		I think that you will be going home
	Duirt Liam go mbeidh scrúdú gaeilge againn		Liam said that we will have an Irish test
