Delaney
Brothers Bluegrass
My dad's awesome bluegrass band; I'd admired them even
before he joined forces with them. Due to the frequency and urgency
of schedule updates, I've taught him how to do the updates himself,
and he now does most of the site maintenance.
The
Emigrants
My Irish teacher, Brian Clancy's, band. They're great traditional musicians,
and I can't get enough of their two CDs. I loved the their beautiful
official website design, originally created by Brian's nephew, but the
site sort of fell into neglect, completely disappearing from the Web
for a while, so I offered to take care of its upkeep, adding more photos
and content, while keeping the original look. (Wish I could take credit
for the design, but it's all Andy's work!)

Tribute to Actor Robert Newton
One of my favorite actors since I was 12 years old.
I couldn't find a website about him, so I decided to create one of my
own, back in '99. Little did I guess where it would lead!
Cyril
Cusack: A Fan Tribute
I discovered Cyril Cusack through two of Robert
Newton's movies and just fell in love with him in Soldiers Three.
There was no comprehensive website about him, so I decided to honor
him myself.

no other website about it, so I took matters into my own hands!
The
German Rochester Web Ring
Glenn Call and I
established this site, which evolved into the "GoetheNet,"
in 2000. (I came up with the original title and logo and the idea for
the Aktuelles and Marktplatz pages and created its very first page,
advertising the local German Fest.) Although Glenn has since taken over
(for the sake of our friendship, due to "creative differences"!),
I still help out from time to time.
Irish
Rochester Online
At the time I created this, back in 2001, there was
no "ecumenical" website tying together all the local goings-on
and organizations in the Irish community like Glenn and I had created
for German Rochester, so I collected some information and links together
and created one myself. I never even submitted it to the search engines,
but somehow it got picked up, and now the listings are beginning to
pour in without my having to go out and find them all ... so now I guess
I have to keep it up to date!

Language Classes
Ever wanted to learn Irish Gaelic? (Not to be confused with Scots Gaelic.
Yes, there is a difference, and, yes, Irish is a bonafide, living language--the
official language of Ireland and still commonly spoken in many parts
of the country. In fact, it's one of the oldest languages still being
spoken today!) Here is the place to learn Irish in Rochester!
Brian Clancy is a great teacher and a native speaker, and his classes
are a lot of fun. And, if you take the class, you'll get access to the
students-only page I maintain!
